Fall Decorating Ideas 2020

Happy first day of fall! Sharing some fall decorating ideas this year in our new house. I’m sticking to the traditional autumn color palette to make our home feel warm and cozy for our first Thanksgiving season here. So lots of orange, yellow, red and brown.

I prefer using faux pumpkins over real ones because it’s less of a mess to deal with. Real pumpkins are nice at first until the squirrels attack them and then the pumpkins start to rot. The addition of the black and white buffalo plaid rug ties in the fall look perfectly. I also decided to add these yellow perennial flowers to balance out the colors.

I got this beautiful wreath from HomeGoods and used an autumn plaid ribbon to hang this up. I like using ribbons instead of a thick metal wreath hanger. Stay tuned for a vlog on this wreath hanging hack and decorate with me on my YT channel.

I love how this fireplace mantel turned out! I added the garland, ceramic pumpkins, autumn fillers, a cute little owl, and a velvet pumpkin. I decided not to decorate the floor below the mantel because it will not last with a 15-month old toddler.

I added a couple fall themed pillows from the atHome store and a super soft throw blanket on the outdoor patio furniture for cozy mornings while enjoying a pumpkin spiced latte.

Here is my little helper enjoying a slice of apple while sitting on some haystack. And these huarache ballet flats are so darn cute! Hope this gave you all some fall inspiration to get your decorating on. Happy fall y’all!
