5-Minute Sangria Recipes

Sangria drinks are one of my favorite go-to drinks because of the wine and all the fruits in it! This is the perfect refreshing drink during the summer and you can easily change up the recipe to your own liking.

For the red wine selection, pick a wine that has low tannin levels to prevent the bitter taste and grainy texture. A light-bodied Pinot Noir or Grenacha (Spanish wine) are the best reds for sangria. As for white sangria, Pinot Grigio is a great option because it’s light, dry, and has a crisp finish. But if you prefer your sangria to be sweeter, then opt for Moscato.

As for the spirits, you can mix it with a liquor or liqueur (liquor with sugar) of your choice.  Spirits that pair well with sangria are Brandy (wine liquor), Grand Marnier (orange-flavored liqueur), or Triple Sec (orange-flavored liqueur). You can skip the spirits if you want less alcohol content. No extra sugar is needed because you’ll have plenty of natural sweetness from the muddled fruits and the sugar from the wine and orange juice.

The hardest part is just washing and slicing the fruits. The actual mixing takes less than 5 minutes!

Some helpful tips:

  • Prep and chill all fruits beforehand. Cold fruits taste more refreshing than room temperature fruits.
  • White wines should be chilled beforehand
  • You can also chill the red wine beforehand, especially if you need to make it last minute before guests arrive.

The only difference when making a white sangria is using white wine and different fruits that pair well with whites.

I used large mason jars to allow room for extra fruits to snack on while sipping. Complete the look by serving your sangria with these trendy rose gold metal straws. It looks aesthetically pleasing and you’re saving the ocean from not using plastic straws 🙂

Cheers!
