Yayoi Kusama: Infinity Mirrors

Yayoi Kusama is a phenomenal artist from Japan.  Her most recent work, “Infinity Mirrors” was showcased in Washington, D.C. as the first North American exhibit tour.  Once (or if) you’re able to obtain tickets to this exhibit before it’s sold out, it’s so worth it!  Despite waiting in lines all day at the museum, I’m glad I was able to experience her artwork!

Her collection of psychedelic art makes you feel as if you’re in the middle of space seeing things go on and on.  Prior to my visit – I thought these exhibit rooms were gigantic due to the infinite illusion from pictures.  However, I was so surprised that it was just a little enclosed room!  So cool.

Be sure to read up on the artist, herself: Yayoi Kusama.  She has an interesting life story and how art has helped her cope during her life struggles.  I highly recommend this wonderful exhibit and good luck obtaining timed passes before they sell out due to popular demand.  Unfortunately, this exhibit is no longer at the D.C. location.  The next few stops in North America are scheduled to be in: Seattle, Los Angeles, Cleveland, and Ontario, Toronto.
