New Year’s Eve Virtual Party Essentials

Given the current situation that we’re still in (unfortunately)… we can still ring in the new year with our friends and family but virtually! I’ve rounded up some NYE outfits where you can still look glam for the camera but also feel comfy in your own home.

Sequins, sequins, and sequins:

  • Jogger set – it can’t get any more comfortable than this. Just like sweats but leveled up with sequins.
  • Jumpsuit – I love the look of jumpsuit but hate having to use the public restroom with this on but since this is a virtual party – taking this on/off is easy peasy in your own and clean bathroom.
  • Sequin sweater – if you prefer a warmer cozy look, pair this sweater with some jeans.
  • High-waisted trouser pants – I love everything high-waisted because I appreciate that it can hide my mom-pooch. Top this off with a turtleneck bodysuit or a turtleneck sweater for a classic and sophisticated look.

House slippers:

  • Ballet slippers – super comfy and you can keep it on while you’re sitting on the couch because they’ll stay on like socks.
  • Shearling slippers – these sequin slip-ons are not only dazzling but they are lined with plush and genuine shearling!

Party props:

  • 2021 balloons – if you want to kick it up a notch and include a festive background for your virtual call.
  • Photo booth props – these are fun for the virtual party but also fun to have to take pictures afterwards for the gram!

Virtual platforms:

  • FaceTime – this will work if everyone has an iPhone in the group. With Group FaceTime – you can call up to 32 people and best of all… it’s free.
  • Google Duo/Hangout – another free platform you can call from your phone or laptop. Ideal if there are Android/Google phone users here.
  • Zoom – this is my favorite platform in terms of quality and least likely for calls to drop but there is a small fee to it if you plan on chatting for over 40 minutes.
  • Other platforms that are normally used for business meetings but can also be used for small personal meetings – WebEx, GoToMeeting, RingCentral, and Amazon Chime.

Last but not least: the BOOZE (extra because it’s 2020). Champagne is my go-to for the countdown but whatever floats your boat. Just don’t forget about the ALCOHOL because you don’t have to worry about having a designated driver this year. Just roll over and sleep afterwards 😉

Cheers to making it through the craziest year EVER and to a more normal 2021. Happy new year!
