The day may seem long but this quarantine is going by fast. I can’t believe we are already going into May! Here are our favorite items this past month:

Baby girl is 10 months old and she is very curious about everything. She’s a fast learner and tries to outsmart us sometimes too. Rei also has mild eczema and I think being inside with the heat on causes her eczema to flare up due to the dry air. Here are some of Rei’s favorites this month focusing on skin care and some new developmental skills:
- Puracy shampoo – this is a tear-free baby shampoo and body wash. A lot of shampoos claim that they’re tear-free but that’s not always the case. I’ve tried several different baby shampoos but Puracy is truly tear-free. It is also gentle on sensitive skin like mild eczema. The citrus smell provides a clean and refreshing scent!
- Baby Aquaphor – this is like a moisturizer mix with neosporin but for babies! I apply this on Rei’s face every morning and night to prevent dry skin. This is also great to apply on minor scratches.
- Eczema night balm – as mentioned earlier, baby girl has mild eczema and I’ve been applying this to her eczema spots. This does not rid her eczema completely since eczema is hereditary for us but it does seem to alleviate her flare ups along with hydrocortisone cream found over the counter.
- Baby led weaning spoons – Rei can’t control a toddler spoon on her own yet, so this spoon set is perfect for her to eat foods like oatmeal, stew, applesauce, and etc. These spoons have a shorter handle for her little hands and the surface area of the spoon holds the food. She is less frustrated using these spoons because she has much more control over it.
- Straw cup – we are currently training Rei to transition from bottle to sippy cup to using a straw cup (then a regular cup, eventually). We love this straw cup! The straw is bendable so it won’t stab the roof of her mouth. It’s also spill-proof because they have a click-lock mechanism. Rei was able to learn how to drink out of straw the first day we introduced her to it.
- Learning walker – Rei only played with the buttons and listened to the tunes when we first bought her this a couple months ago. But now she loves pushing this walker around the house daily. This is definitely helping her with her walking development and she loves dancing to the catchy songs.

I have been feeling very anxious during this quarantine because it is just a weird time. I think all the unknowns of what’s to come certainly contributes to my anxiety. And who knew having to cook daily and multiple times a day can be so stressful?! My favorites this month is mainly skincare:
- Eucalyptus stress-relieving body wash – got this from Bath & Body works before quarantine and I’ve been using this daily. The eucalyptus scent under a hot steaming shower helps clear my mind after a long day!
- Clinique face moisturizer – like my daughter, I also have dry skin! Although, I rarely wear makeup these days – I still make sure to moisturize my face. This is lightweight and keeps my face moisturize for the entire day without the need to reapply,
- Carmex lip balm – I get a cold sore like once every couple years when I’m overly stressed and it’s the most annoying thing ever. I felt one coming earlier this month but quickly applied Carmex on it before the sore got worst and it went away in a couple days! Phew – I didn’t have to buy cold sore ointment this time.
- Pumice bar– for some reason, staying inside the house and not wearing shoes is making my heels dry. I spend a few minutes in the shower to scrub my heels using this pumice. Then I apply a thin layer of Vaseline right after the shower to keep my heels from drying out. I’ve noticed the difference in just a few days!
